Eco Programs of Green Suites' Clients


Earth Day 2005 marked the 35th anniversary of a grassroots method of reminding us of our mutual interest in the stewardship of our environment. This is an excerpt of earth day conservation tips hoteliers can use to make their hotels more environmentally friendly. This is just one reminder that Earth Day projects can be done every day.

Here is a review of what hotel clients of Green Suites have accomplished with their eco programs.

1. They have replaced some 250,000+ lights with energy-efficient bulbs, saving more than 70 trillion kilowatt hours of electricity and avoiding 7 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year from coal fired power plants.


2. They have deployed water-efficient guestroom solutions such as sink aerators and low-flow showerheads, saving an estimated 250 million gallons of water per year


3. They have installed more than 10,000 Guestat Energy Management Systems, saving 10 trillion kilowatt hours of electricity and avoiding 5 billion tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year


4. Added more than 14,000 bathroom amenity dispensers, annually diverting more than 10 million plastic bottles from landfills.


5. Adopted a linen-and-towel reuse program, conserving more than 100 million gallons of water per year.
