Bamboo Sheets - Again

Organic, natural fiber bed sheets, made of bamboo feel great! They are soft, silky, durable, are anti-microbial, and breathe. Bamboo bed sheets and sheet sets typically come in a variety of sizes and colors. You can find cotton/bamboo blend fairly readily, but 100% bamboo sheets seem to be hard to come by. Until now....

Barry from SleepSoft.com asked me to give him an honest review of his bamboo sheets. It's been longer than the couple of months I indicated it would take to give him an honest review in exchange for a set of sheets, but that gives me longer to evaluate them. These are the first sheets I've been given, all other similar reviews have been on purchased sheets.

The sheets are soft and very comfortable. They launder well. Both my husband and I like them, which is a first for us! We have two other sets of bamboo sheets and he prefers one and I prefer the other, though we both like sleeping on them just fine.

We chose the chocolate brown sheets, but that must have been a popular color because all they had left was ivory. Since color isn't vital to our sleep we didn't care, but I sure wish I could have had the chocolate for variety.

I told Barry that one of my frustrations with bamboo sheets has been finding a supplier that keeps them in stock beyond my review. How can I direct you to quality products if the supplier keeps "running out"?! Barry still has a website, and not showing any of his bamboo sheets are out of stock. Good start.

My first reaction to the sheets when I got them is that they smelled bad. A chemical smell perhaps, but I couldn't sleep on them until they were washed. They washed well, as has been my experience with other bamboo sheets. Drying them was different though; they created lots of lint; so much so I was worried they wouldn't last beyond one or two uses. When I shared that concern with Barry he said it was just the excess fibers on the sheets and was not a problem with the sheets; ok, time will tell.

And finally, the top sheet shape was a bit off, as is my often my experience with China-made items -- very long and not much wider than a queen-size top sheet. We love having the sheet tuck in soundly with enough left for our chins, but we aren't as content with not having the width we like.

After five months of washing, drying, and using time and again we still love the sheets. They are soft and comfortable. They still lint badly, but they don't pill or feel rough. The feel is the most important to me, not the amount of lint they produce.

If you are looking for a good source for great bamboo sheets check out Barry's Sleepsoft.com site. You can select from five sizes -- twin, double, queen, king, and California king -- and six colors -- white, ocean blue, ivory, sand pebble, chocolate brown, and olive green. Enjoy!
